Carlos Turner is a queer playwright and director based in New Orleans and is thrilled to
work with Blue Roses Project. His writing has been produced by the Northshore Arts
Foundation, Harlem 9, and theaters across Louisiana. Most recently, he directed
Suppressed Desires as a participant in Fat Squirrel Theater’s Emerging Directors
Program. Carlos holds a master’s degree in English from Southeastern Louisiana
University.
Dom Martello, Red Tide

Synopsis: Her cat went missing and she's being haunted by a ghost. He just got out of a long-term relationship and can't hold down a job. They're strangers stuck in a house, waiting out a hurricane on Florida's Gulf Coast. All they have are board games, old CDs, a few cartons of milk, and hope that the house's foundation is strong enough to withstand the storm. This supernatural love story chronicles grief, transness, and the shifting current of American politics.
Since BRP: Red Tide had another reading at QNCC in Brooklyn and Dom has gone on to a slew of successes including receiving the Parity Development Award for their new play Freya and making their Broadway debut in Dog Day Afternoon.

Project Lazarus
Every week, Blue Roses Project runs a playwriting class at Project Lazarus, a New Orleans organization serving people living with HIV/AIDS. About ten participants write toward a shared goal: a night of performed, one-person short plays telling their own stories. This is Blue Roses Project's community-embedded work, separate from our full-length development pipeline, but core to why we exist in New Orleans specifically.

New Orleans-born playwright whose work, including the Pulitzer finalist Detroit, has been produced on Broadway and at theaters worldwide. She's won two OBIE Awards and the Alpert, Steinberg, and Doris Duke Artist honors.

Creator and star of Billy on the Street, the Emmy-nominated comedy game show turned TikTok phenomenon. He co-wrote, starred in, and produced Bros, and appears in the upcoming Judgment Day. His audiobook Billy on Billy is streaming now.
Raúl Esparza

A four-time Tony nominee known for his work in the Broadway musicals Company and the upcoming Galileo and TV roles in Law & Order: SVU and The Good Fight. His numerous honors include the OBIE and three Drama Desk Awards.
